District Six and the “Bo Kaap”- Half day
Afternoon 1.00pm to 5.00 pm

On this in-depth, thought-provoking walk/drive tour, you will discover how the Apartheid Policies of the past regime destroyed an established suburb of nearly 100 years, thereby displacing an entire community of some 65.000 people, and removing the pioneering Muslim Community from all over central Cape Town and confining them to the slopes of Signal Hill.
District Six.
Where are they now, and how do they feel? What does the future hold? Why was District Six left empty and neglected for over twenty years after it’s destruction between 1966 and 1973 and not re-developed for white occupation as was first intended?
- We drive through what is left of District Six, point out landmarks and witness the reconstruction of the area.
- We visit the award-winning district six museum
We then proceed to the Bo-Kaap through the center of town where we point out places of interest and historical value to to-day’s tour.
